Palantir and Lumen Forge Multi-Year AI Partnership Valued Over $200 Million
Published:

Palantir Technologies and Lumen Technologies have formalized a multi-year strategic partnership, reportedly valued at over $200 million, to integrate Palantir's Artificial Intelligence (AI) software with Lumen's infrastructure for developing enterprise AI services. The collaboration was announced on Thursday, positioning Lumen to enhance its digital service offerings.

The agreement specifies Lumen's intent to pair Palantir's Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) with its existing edge computing capabilities, broadband infrastructure, and other digital services. While the companies publicly described the deal as a “multi-year, multi-million-dollar strategic partnership,” Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources, reported that Lumen is expected to allocate over $200 million for Palantir's technology over several years.

This partnership is part of Lumen's ongoing efforts to transition from a traditional telecommunications provider into a modern technology infrastructure company. The collaboration follows an earlier integration phase announced in September, where Lumen implemented Palantir's Foundry and AI software into its operations, finance, and technology functions. Joe Goode, a spokesperson for Lumen, informed TechCrunch that this initial use of Palantir's technology was a "material contributor" to achieving $350 million in cost reductions in 2025. Lumen has committed to reducing expenses by $1 billion by 2027 and reports being ahead of schedule.

According to Goode, "Palantir demonstrated that its Foundry and AIP platforms could unlock Lumen’s data faster and cheaper than traditional data-lake migrations, and together we’re pursuing solutions to help large enterprises do the same." Kate Johnson, CEO of Lumen Technologies, stated in a press release, "By bringing AI into real-world operations through a connected ecosystem, we’re empowering businesses to reinvent how they operate, compete, and grow."

For Palantir, this agreement represents its latest engagement in a series of partnerships with corporate and governmental organizations across various sectors. Including the Lumen deal, Palantir has secured 19 partnerships this year, spanning aviation, healthcare, telecommunications, contract management, data management, and defense.
